The weekly magazine Grazia arrives in Germany
The international network of Grazia magazine reaches 15 editions, thanks to an agreement between Mondadori and Mediengruppe Klambt for the German edition of the magazine. This target will be surpassed later in the year with the arrival of Grazia Bahrain in September: the monthly magazine, published in English by ITP, takes its place alongside the edition for the United Arab Emirates (also licensed to ITP). In terms of international development, to mark the participation of Grazia China as media partner for the Italian Pavilion at Expo Shanghai 2010, and the agreement signed by Mondadori and the publisher Rayli House Beijing Magazine concerning partnerships between Casaviva and the Chinese magazine Rayli Home, from the July issue, the cover also bears the logo of the Italian texts.

Mondadori to 100% of Mondolibri S.p.A.
Mondadori buys 50% of Mondolibri S.p.A.’s share capital from the company Holding Industriale di Grafica S.p.A., of which Mondadori already owns 50% through a joint venture with Bertelsman DirectGroup. With this transaction, Mondadori brings its stake in the company up to 100%, gaining exclusive control as market leader in the sale of mail order books, and becoming one of the Italian leaders in e-commerce.

Panorama, the new dimension of information
The leading magazine for Italian news goes on sale in the newsstands with a revamped content, reorganised according to the keywords "characters, facts, opinions, ideas and extra", and a strong multimedia boost. Redesigned as a "personal magazine" Panorama integrates the contents of the weekly paper with insights and applications involving multiple platforms, from smartphones to iPads.

E-books arrive on Bol.it
The online bookstore Bol.it launches the store dedicated to digital books with a vast catalogue of titles in Italian, and for the first time on our market, in English. Thanks to the collaboration with publishers and major international hardware manufacturers, the Bol.it platform offers e-book published in any format and also offers a selection of the best e-book readers available on the market.
Chi turns 15
On the occasion of the 15th birthday of the Mondadori weekly, leader among female entertainment magazines, a completely new look is proposed on the newsstands which focuses on the quality and the communicative power of images.

Antonio Pennacchi wins the “Strega Prize”
With the novel Canale Mussolini, published by Mondadori, Antonio Pennacchi won the 64th edition of the “Strega Prize”. The book tells the story of a large family of patriarchal farmers from Polesine who moved to Lazio in 1932 to colonise the Pontine Marshes which had been newly reclaimed by the leader. The story tells about the family’s intertwining with half a century of Italian history, from the first movements of the early twentieth century farmers, until after World War II.

Focus Geronimo Stilton, a new monthly magazine for children aged 6 to 10 years
Through a joint initiative between Piemme Publishers and Gruner+Jahr / Mondadori, Focus Geronimo Stilton is born, a new monthly magazine aimed at children aged 6 to 10 years. The project will bring together Piemme Publishers’s famous character Geronimo Stilton, a publishing phenomenon with more than 20 million copies of books sold in Italy alone, and the leadership of Gruner + Jahr / Mondadori in the division of journals devoted to infancy.

Excellent results for Grazia France, a year after its launch
With an average of over 170,000 copies distributed and 1,600 pages of advertising in its first year, Grazia France consolidated its distinctive position in the market for women's magazines in France. The high-end women's weekly, characterised by an immediately identifiable style, Grazia France quickly became a reference point for those women north of the Alps, gaining the consent of the readers and investors. Furthermore, the magazine received prestigious recognition at the annual contest “Magazine de l'Année” of the Syndicat dela Presse Magazine et d'Information (SPMI) which, in April, awarded it the ‘Innovation Prize’ for best new magazine of the year.
Michela Murgia awarded The “Premio Campiello Prize”
With the novel Accabadora (published by Einaudi), Michela Murgia won the 48th edition of the “Premio Campiello”. The book, which in the same year won the Super Mondello, Alassio100 Books Prize - An author for Europe and the First Novel Prize of the city of Cuneo, tells the story of a young girl and the mysterious life of an elderly woman in a Sardinian village during the 1950s.

Over 1,200 titles in e-books from Telecom Italia and Mondadori
Telecom Italia and the Mondadori Group sign an agreement for the distribution of digital books that launches Bibletstore (www.biblet.it), the first Italian digital library. Signed in Frankfurt during the Book Fair, the agreement between the two companies makes 800 catalogue titles and over 400 new titles available from the brands Mondadori, Einaudi, Sperling & Kupfer and Piemme in electronic format on Telecom Italia’s e-book store.

Mondadori adopt new an organisational matrix
To complete the transformation initiated at the beginning of the year which saw the reorganisation of the Books sector into two new general directorates (trade and educational) and saw the creation of new Digital administrative departments; Publishing Group and Operations Group, Mondadori adopts the organisational matrix model. Within it, the General Managers of Business are brought under the direct supervision of the Managing Director. Of particular importance is the creation of the new Editorial Management Group, headed by Roberto Briglia, who joined the board of directors as an executive director. The board was expanded from 11 to 14 members, with the arrival of two other non-executive and independent members, Renoldi Angelo and Carlo Sangalli.

The titles of the publishers group on Google Books and Google e-Books
Mondadori and Google sign an agreement making a global catalogue available of the Italian trade titles in electronic format on Google Books and Google e-Books. The first platform, which is already available in Italy, allows readers around the world to find more than 10,000 titles in the catalogue trade group on Google, visualising a preview online of the texts and buying the physical copy through online retailers or through traditional bookstores. Google e-Books, the online Google Bookstore, will be launched in Europe in 2011 and, under the agreement with the publishing house of Segrate, will also sell the e-books of the Mondadori Group.
R101 is revamped
A new music program which is more emotional and compelling: this is the first step of the renovation project for R101, Mondadori Group’s radio station. The objective is to strengthen the relationship with the public through the characteristic feature of free radio, music, focusing and expanding the music library to make Radio R101 more emotional, with greater variety and quality of programmed tracks, consistently in tune with the listeners.
